Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
There’s a reason this wine won Double Gold at the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition this year. Simply, it’s luscious. You’ll start with hints of citrus and green apple and finish with crème brule. The palate is rich and full with flavors of poached pear, caramel and butterscotch. The long finish has great balance. This is Napa Chardonnay. You’ll want to remember to bring this along to any restaurant that’s serving lobster in butter sauce, tuna steaks or risotto. It’s also a treat on its own after a long day!
Vineyard Notes
Our Chardonnay is grown in our Fig Tree Vineyard at the base of Howell Mountain in the St. Helena Appellation, a location we feel very well suited to big rich full bodied Napa Valley Chardonnay. The soils in this vineyard contain high potassium levels. This allows for a higher pH in the finished wine while holding good acidity. It is the perfect situation to yield our reserve quality Chardonnay.
Winemaker Notes
We barrel ferment our Chardonnay in a combination of 80% new French oak and 20% Neutral oak. This Chardonnay is kept on the lees and the lees stirred twice monthly until bottling. The wine goes through Malolactic Fermentation, giving us an opulent Chardonnay with great mouthfeel.
