Combining our top wine lots from both Fig Tree & Pocai Vineyards, we are very excited about this release. Crafting small production wines like these really can display what our farming and vineyards can do. Plums and black currant lead this full-bodied concentrated wine. With herbaceous notes, baking spices, and mocha, the wine is lush with well-rounded tannins. A nice decant will open the wine and display all of the beautiful nuances.

Vineyard Notes

We combine the best of our vineyards in this wine. Each year our properties express themselves slightly differently, and our role is to take the best of what they give us and craft a truly exceptional wine. The Pocai Ranch generally brings power, boldness & dark red fruits, while our Fig Tree Vineyard provides the broadness and the layers of flavors and spice. We manage each site specific to its unique characteristics, with the goal of only producing the highest quality grapes and resulting wine.

Winemaker Notes

The 2019 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of our best Cabernets from the vintage. Comprised of 41% Clone 15, 37% Clone 4, and 16% Clone 7 Cabernet Sauvignon. We use a combination of barrel and small tank ferments and focus on concentation and gentle tannin extraction for this wine. The wine is aged in our best French Oak barrels.
