2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Magnum, Pocai Vineyard
Calistoga, Napa Valley
Grown in our oldest vineyard, we now have 5 different clones of Cabernet Sauvignon, picked across multiple days to craft you a unique wine that truly represents our Pocai Vineyard.
Savory and unctuous, raspberry and plum greet you on the nose. Violets and Earl Grey tea are intertwined with cherry, blueberry, and vanilla. Hints of tobacco and clove add to the dynamic palate.
As this elegant wine opens up, enjoy a lengthy smooth finish that lingers.

		Tasting Notes
Pocai Vineyard has a way of expressing a fruit-forward California wine but also brings large tannins that are integrated to create a powerful yet elegant wine.
		Vineyard Notes
The Pocai Vineyard has been continuously farmed by our family for over 100 years, ever since Frank Ballentine’s great grandfather purchased it in 1906. Purchased with a pile of gold coins, Pocai Vineyard is located on the southern edge of the Calistoga Appellation. The soil is Bale gravelly loam, the rockiest soil of our three vineyards, the fertility of the soil is low, but the drainage is excellent and is perfect for growing powerful red grapes. Pocai Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon stands out year after year.
