Estate Wines

These wines are grown in our three estate vineyards ~ Pocai, Fig Tree, and Betty's Vineyard. Crafted to be approachable and easy to drink, these crowd- pleasing wines offer unique expressions of our winery's style. They are both food-friendly and great for any occasion.

Recently awarded a Silver Medal at the San Francisco Chronicle Tasting, this cabernet is an easy to drink every day.

Our Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is everything we want a Napa Valley Cab to be: carmel, cassis, brambly raspberry, black pepper, clove, smoked meats, cranberry, blackberry jam, and bacon. Need we say more!

A brilliant release for our estate grown Merlot. It has a luscious dark berry flavor that is concentrated and jammy and is accented with black pepper and dusty spices.

Last year, this wine was voted a Smart Buy by Wine Spectator. When crafting this wine, we look for flavors of blueberry and raspberry syrup in the Zinfandel grapes to indicate ripeness. This estate wine is a combination of our Zinfandel blocks and is lightly blended for the perfect balance.This vintage is exceptionally floral and jammy with classic flavors of black cherry, clove, and fresh rose petals. It is simply delicous.

Single Vineyard Wines

Each single vineyard wine is a unique and exemplary representation of the vineyard block selected. Honoring the Ballentine history, we farm several different grapes well-suited to the terroir. With three different vineyards in Napa Valley, we are able to make a diverse range of wines.

Pocai Vineyard

The Cabernet Franc from our oldest vineyard, Pocai has also become Betty Ballentine’s favorite wine. Bright red fruit of strawberry, raspberries and cherries enhance the mouthful. The structure is apparent in this young wine and is full of mocha and butterscotch notes. A combination of earth and hints of roses and pepper pull this wine together.

Pocai Vineyard

After more than 100 years of farming experience in this vineyard, we have begun to bottle a single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon from Pocai Vineyard to showcase this wonderful site. This inviting wine seduces with cherry and raspberry flavors and baking spice aromas, then allows its long, lush finish to be savored.

Pocai Vineyard

Fresh concentrated plum jam with orange peel and Campari hit the nose while the palate is teased with cinnamon, huckleberry, red cherry finishing with a beautiful perfume. Violets and floral roses are secondary notes that accompany blackberry, red cherries and licorice. This is a very well balanced wine with restraint in the tannins to better show the expression of the vineyard. The 2017 is full bodied and explodes with flavor.

Betty's Vineyard

This Chenin is our most local farm to table wine...grown, made and bottled within 300 yards of our winery. Refreshing tropical notes of guava and passionfruit are followed by bright citrus and a nutty finish.Our favorite for oysters, seafood, and salads.

Fig Tree Vineyard

Stunningly rich, full-bodied, with unctious texture, loads of crème de cassis, licorice and subtle background oak. The wine is approachable now and will evolve over 10-15 years. The palette mirrors the nose, and the soft acidity and silky voluptuousness let the finish linger for some time.

Pocai Vineyard

Our 2016 Petite Sirah has aromas of cherry, boysenberry, a hint of olive and roses. Cherry liquor, chocolate and vanilla all dance across the palate while sipping this wine.
