This Napa Merlot is available for a short time only. A big, luxurious Merlot packed with aromas of raspberry, cherry, plum, and apple. Big rounded tannins and fruit-forward flavors help make this a Cabernet drinker's style Merlot!

Estate Wine

Last year, this wine was voted a Smart Buy by Wine Spectator. When crafting this wine, we look for flavors of blueberry and raspberry syrup in the Zinfandel grapes to indicate ripeness. This vintage is exceptionally floral and jammy with classic flavors of black cherry, clove, and fresh rose petals. It is simply delicious.

Single Vineyard Wines

Each single vineyard wine is a unique and exemplary representation of the vineyard block selected. Honoring the Ballentine history, we farm several different grapes well-suited to the terroir. With three different vineyards in Napa Valley, we are able to make a diverse range of wines.

Pocai Vineyard

The Cabernet Franc from our oldest vineyard, Pocai has also become Betty Ballentine’s favorite wine. Bright red fruit of strawberry, raspberries and cherries enhance the mouthful. The structure is apparent in this young wine and is full of mocha and butterscotch notes. A combination of earth and hints of roses and pepper pull this wine together.

Pocai Vineyard

Fresh concentrated plum jam with orange peel and Campari hit the nose while the palate is teased with cinnamon, huckleberry, red cherry finishing with a beautiful perfume. Violets and floral roses are secondary notes that accompany blackberry, red cherries and licorice. The 2017 is full bodied and explodes with flavor.

Betty's Vineyard

This Chenin is our most local farm to table wine...grown, made and bottled within 300 yards of our winery. Bright tropical notes of mango and pineapple mesh well with lemon curd and honeydew melon. Wonderful acidity is highlighted with green apple and mineral notes.

For the best pairing this summer, drink with oysters.

The Reserve label is the most elevated in our Cabernet portfolio. The intertwined circles were chosen to represent the marriage of Betty Pocai and Van Ballentine and their two families vineyards and history joining.

Black cherry and fig compote with a beautiful floral nose compliment the vanilla, cedar, and blueberry pie. A hint of coffee, toasted coconut, and huckleberries balance this full-bodied wine! The perfect winter Cabernet.

Member Release

Primarily coming from our warmest vineyard in Calistoga, this vintage is rich and full-bodied. Crisp citrus peel and brandied cherry hit the nose, while the mid-palate highlights ripe dark plums and blackberry compote, hints of clove, and creamy spiced chocolate. This wine has a distinct bourbon-like finish and is a big full-flavored wine. Perfect for a whiskey fan.

Fig Tree Vineyard

This luscious wine starts with hints of citrus and green apple and finishes with crème brule. The palate is rich and full with flavors of poached pear, caramel and butterscotch. The long finish has great balance.
